The most vulnerable populations in South Dorchester were women who lack a vehicle, rent, have a medical illness, children, and a disability (r ≥ 0.726, P < 0.01) and women with less than a high school education, a disability, and children (r ≥ 0.710, P < 0.01). South Dorchester had the third largest percentages of people with disabilities, children, less than a high school education, and people of color. This indicates that socially vulnerable populations will exist in greater numbers in this neighborhood. Additionally, South Dorchester had the largest number of hotspots compared to the other 15 neighborhoods.
