Excited About New Chief Resilience Officer Position...

I have not written a post in several months, but I thought now was an appropriate time to get back on track. This week has been a whirlwind…On Monday, August 10, 2015, Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced that I have been appointed the Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Boston as part of 100 Resilient Cities pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation. Since then, there has been a lot of media coverage about the position and the Mayor selecting me to fill it.

I am particularly touched by the support I have received from friends, family, colleagues, community partners, and strangers. I am grateful for this incredible opportunity and look forward to working with everyone in my new capacity. This role requires significant collaboration across the city to be successful. Therefore, I will be following up with all those who have offered their support to develop and implement our city’s Resilience Strategic Plan. Brace yourselves, we have work to do…
